How We Built LMX for the Grassroots Football Community
Published on July 12, 2025 (Last updated: August 6, 2025)
Before LMX was a product, it was a problem.
We were running Last Man Standing leagues the same way everyone else did — WhatsApp threads, Google Sheets, missed picks, forgotten deadlines, and a Monday morning scramble to figure out who was still in.
It worked. Kind of. But it didn’t feel fun anymore.
And that’s the thing — LMS is meant to be fun.
So we decided to fix it.
🛠️ Built for Fans, Not Admins
LMX was designed for one core reason: to make LMS effortless. Not just for the people playing — but for the poor soul trying to run the league.
Because let’s be honest: if you’ve ever organised LMS for your mates, you’ve probably said the words “never again.”
So we built LMX to take all of that off your plate:
-
Easy league setup
-
Automatic deadline cutoffs
-
No duplicate picks
-
Fixtures in one clean view
-
Pick reminders, win tracking, stats
-
And no one chasing WhatsApp messages at 11:56pm on a Friday
🏟️ Made for the Grassroots Game
We didn’t build this for the Premier League suits. We built it for:
-
The Sunday league managers running club fundraisers
-
Pub crews who want a bit of craic between pints
-
Office leagues looking for something less faffy than Fantasy Football
-
Mates who watch Match of the Day religiously but don’t want to manage a squad
This isn’t about monetising fandom. It’s about giving it a home.
🌍 What’s Next
We started with the Premier League because that’s what most of our players follow. But LMX isn’t about one league — it’s about the format. We’ve already got eyes on other leagues, other countries, and other ways to play.
Because we believe Last Man Standing deserves more than a spreadsheet.
It deserves a proper home. A platform. A brand.
And we’re just getting started.
